Craig Van Schouwen focuses his practice on plaintiffs' Workers’ Compensation law. Previously an insurance defense attorney, he switched sides in 1995 to join the Valparaiso law firm and has since been representing injured workers nationwide.

Mr. Van Schouwen is a dedicated advocate for his clients, taking pride in securing the medical treatment and benefits they need. He frequently lectures and conducts seminars to educate workers about their rights and benefits. Recognizing that the Workers’ Compensation system 'isn’t perfect,' he actively participates in efforts to improve it.

Committed to supporting the families of injured workers, Mr. Van Schouwen serves on the board of directors of Kids’ Chance, a national organization comprising attorneys, insurance executives, union representatives, and Workers’ Compensation Board members. Kids' Chance provides scholarship funding for children whose parents have been injured in catastrophic workplace accidents.
